I didn't really enjoy The Angel's Game when I read it a couple of weeks back. I hope you have better luck with it.
I have both, Oryx and Crake, and Nation on my shelf at the moment. I'm hoping to get to the Pratchett soon, so it'll be fun to compare notes.
